Why pay a fee when the cleaning procedures can be improved?
I was really happy to find out by mail that my notification on a lost object probably had been found and that i could retrieve it at the airport or have it sent to me.
I understand that there are some expenses on these things but I still find it a bit awkward that I need to pay for retrieving it personally anyway. I would understand if I had to pay for getting it sent to me, but why shouldn't it be free to collect at the airport where it was found?
Also I find it a bit strange that the lost and found bagage was inside the security area and not able to reach from the outside public side. So when i got there I collected my luggage and then went out of the customs to the public area and looked up the place that the mail had described. That was closed but there were signs to say where to go and then it was possible to enter the security area again (with the bagage bands) after checking my passport.
However, no-one checked that I was going the right way and it was a bit confusing where to go, but I finally made it to the desk and could retrieve my lost object. The personnel were very helpful and friendly and it went very smoothly as I had paid the fee in advance - but again, why pay for something forgotten onboard your airplanes? If the seat would have been noted you would have known who the passenger was and could have contacted him/her immediately. That is my suggestion, but I'd like to thank you anyway as it was solved rather quickly for me.
